Now that the project has come to an end, we have also had to say goodbye to our colleague Ayesha, who has been part of the team for almost two years working on SMARTGYsum. It has been a pleasure to have benefited from her dedication, hard work and professionalism throughout this time.

SMARTGYsum closing event in Badajoz (March 2026)

The final and closing event of SMARTGYsum took place in Badajoz on 19 and 20 March 2026. During the event, the project’s main findings were presented to the general public, alongside specific sessions focusing on related topics. The event served as the culmination of the project, bringing together participants and experts to share knowledge and conclusions.

Proyecto Extremadura will support leading companies to strengthen the regional economy in a new edition of Sámara

Proyecto Extremadura, a joint initiative of Fundación Caja Extremadura and Fundación Cajalmendralejo, has launched a new edition of Sámara Emprende a la Excelencia Empresarial, a strategic program aimed at well-established companies in Extremadura with high growth potential.

In this edition, seven leading companies from the region will participate, including SENERGY PRODUCTS AND SERVICES S.L. (Badajoz), specialized in power electronics and electric mobility. The program will support participating companies in advanced processes of scaling, innovation, and professionalization, strengthening their competitiveness in an increasingly demanding global environment.

The initiative is built around three key pillars: advanced training, personalized mentoring, and strategic networking, with the goal of fostering sustainable growth and generating high-quality employment in Extremadura.

Through this initiative, Proyecto Extremadura reaffirms its commitment to regional economic development, supporting companies like SENERGY that actively contribute to innovation and value creation within the territory.

Ayesha’s stay in Caparica at FCT NOVA

Our colleague Ayesha is conducting a research stay from 23 October to 23 December at the NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA) in Caparica, Portugal, as part of the SMARTGYsum – Research and Training Network for Smart and Green Energy Systems and Business Models project (Project No. 955614, ETN955614). During this period, her work will focus on developing the business model that will support the implementation and sustainability of the project, contributing to the advancement of innovative solutions in smart and sustainable energy. 🔬🏫🤝

Seventh Doctoral School – May 2025

Our colleague Ayesha participated in the Seventh Doctoral School of the SMARTGYsum project in Gdansk (Poland), 26-29 May.
An elevator pitch competition organised by professors from the University of Extremadura was held during the course ‘From the Lab to the Market: Implementing Business Plans for Innovators in Energy Systems’, Ayesha won the competition and received a certificate of recognition.

Presentation of Ayesha Aslam’s paper by Anas Abdullah Alvi

On May 20th, 2025, the paper titled “Power Quality Analysis for Selective Harmonic Compensation in Islanded AC Nanogrid”, written by our colleague Ayesha Aslam, was presented at the CPEPOWERENG 2025 conference in Antalya, Turkey.

The presentation was delivered by co-author Anas Abdullah Alvi from the University of Extremadura.

On May 15, 2025, the article “Tuning and Assessment of Inner Control Loops in an Islanded Nanogrid with Harmonic and Unbalanced Loads”, written by our colleague Ayesha Aslam, was presented at the OPTIM ACEMP 2025 conference in Timisoara, Romania.

The presentation was delivered by co-author Javier Gutiérrez-Escalona from the University of Extremadura. A great example of collaboration between academia and industry. 🌍⚡

Sixth Doctoral School – January 2025

The 6th Doctoral School of the SMARTGYsum European Training Network project brings a new appointment among the seven main training events of the network organised during this project. The school will continue the participation of ESRs in training courses.
It will also include social events to raise awareness among consortium members, improve research integration among project beneficiaries and partners, and establish a long-lasting collaboration between ESRs.

Our colleague Ayesha from Senergyps attended the entire event from 20-25 January, participating in all the courses.

Ayesha’s secondment in Warsaw for SMARGYsum Project

Ayesha is on a two-month secondment at the Warsaw University of Technology, as part of the SMARGYsum Research and Training Network for Smart and Green Energy Systems and Business Models project (Project number: 955614, ETN955614). The aim of this stay is to improve their training, especially in control and modulation techniques of inverters connected in a microgrid.

Training – Fifth Doctoral School – 17 to 20 September 2024

The fifth Doctoral School of the SMARTGYsum European Training Network project, which took place in Paris, is one of the six main training events of the whole network that will be organised during this project.

The programme consisted of the following:

17 September: Soft Skills Course I + BrightLoop Converters visit.
18 September: Technical Courses II and III from 09:00 to 18:00.
19 September: Technical Courses IV and V from 09:00 to 18:00.
20 September: Technical Courses VI and VII from 09:00 to 18:00.

Our colleague Ayesha, from Senergyps, attended the entire event, from 17 to 20 September, participating in all the courses.
